My grandmother struggles with insomnia.Sometimes, she even takes sleeping pills.
I’ve always believed that if you use up your energy, you’ll eventually fall asleep.
But I can’t exactly tell an 80-year-old to go work out.
So I asked her something else —
What if you used your brain instead?
Learning something new takes a lot of mental energy.
And then she remembered.
The day she learned how to use her phone, she slept incredibly well.
Of course, I’m not 80 yet, so I don’t fully understand what insomnia feels like at that age.
But I’ve read that even as we age, the brain can still form new connections —something called neuroplasticity.
Maybe that’s why on days we learn something new, we sleep a little deeper.
I want to keep learning, and be someone who always sleeps well.
And I hope my grandmother can, too.
