10 Things I Tried When I Felt Depressed

I’ve tried quite a lot of things to not feel depressed.

Here are 10 things I’ve actually tried.

1. Eating snacks
It makes me feel better for a moment.
But in the end, I gain weight and feel worse physically.

2. Cutting out snacks
This actually helped.
My body felt lighter, and it became easier to move.

3. Running
This one is real.
When I move my body, dopamine kicks in and lifts my mood.
It also helps with digestion, which I struggle with.

4. Getting sunlight
This worked the most.
On days I get morning sunlight, I feel noticeably better.

5. Talking to a friend
It wasn’t easy,
but I no longer had to pretend I was okay around them.

6. Reading
Books gave me both comfort and direction.

7. Writing
It feels like saying things online
that I couldn’t say in real life.
My thoughts slowly start to clear.

8. Copywriting (hand copying text)
I enjoy the act of writing itself.
It somehow calms my mind.

9. Watching stories about overcoming struggles
Movies, dramas, anime.
I watch how characters endure—and try to do the same.

10. Working a part-time job
It doesn’t solve everything,
but it makes life feel less stuck.

Trying all of these didn’t make depression disappear completely.

But one thing is certain.

It gets better.

And this year,
I can finally feel it fading.
