I prefer running outside rather than using a treadmill.
There was a time when my digestion was very bad,
and my stomach felt uncomfortable almost every day.
I tried different things,
but the one thing that helped the most was cardio exercise.
After walking or running,
it felt like my stomach started moving again.
Because of that,
I tried both treadmill running and outdoor running.
But running on a treadmill was very hard for me.
It felt incredibly boring,
and it just didn’t suit me.
I once heard that treadmills were originally used as punishment devices,
and after running on one,
I felt like I understood why people say that.
I even tried watching Netflix while running,
but it made things worse.
I couldn’t focus on the workout,
and I couldn’t focus on the show either.
When I finished, I didn’t feel refreshed.
So I started running outside.
There is a river near my house,
and when I run along it,
I can run much longer and enjoy it more.
The wind,
the changing scenery,
and the feeling that I am actually moving forward
make my body feel more alive.
There is only one problem.
On very cold days,
it’s hard to go outside.
But even so,
I think I will always prefer outdoor running over the treadmill.
My body simply reacts better to it.
