Sometimes Your Body Forces You to Reset Your Life

My body broke down because my life lost its routine.

When life becomes irregular, the body follows.
It’s not a coincidence.

When you lose your daily rhythm,
when your sleep and meals become unpredictable,
when your mind feels scattered and you don’t even know what you’re doing anymore,
your body starts sending signals.

I ignored those signals.

Lately my sleep schedule was a mess.
My meal times were random.
I always felt rushed,
and I stopped exercising.

Then my stomach started hurting.

At first it was just a sharp, poking pain.
Nothing serious, I thought.

My body had warned me before,
and it usually went away.

So I ignored it again.

I wasn’t hungry,
but when food was there, I ate.

Instead of canceling plans,
I met people
and ate another meal.

That was when everything got worse.

My stomach twisted in a way I had never felt before.
It felt like something was squeezing my stomach and intestines
from both sides,
like wringing out a wet towel.

I couldn’t eat all day,
but I wasn’t hungry either.

My hands and feet were cold,
and I had no energy at all.

I even canceled a family dinner
for my mom’s birthday.

That made me feel worse than the pain.

I slept for almost twelve hours.

When I woke up,
I still couldn’t eat,
but my mind felt clear again.

The first thing that clear mind told me was simple.

Clean the room.
Fix the routine.
Start over.

This isn’t the first time this has happened.
I’ve seen this pattern before.

When life starts falling apart,
you always pay for it with your body.

I’m learning that
I have to stop
before my body makes me stop.
